New in town: Tái Kitchen — Serving authentic Taiwanese braised pork rice, crispy pork ramen & cold noodle salad

To those working at Tanjong Pagar, have you noticed a spanking new eatery (decked out in bumblebee colours) at Icon Village Altez? If you did, that would be Tái Kitchen, which swung its doors for business on 13 Mar 2023.

The menu mainly consists of Taiwanese dishes with some Japanese influences happening here and there. If you love Taiwanese lu rou fan, you should definitely try the Braised Pork Rice (S$9.90).

The rendition over here tastes like the real deal, with the braised meat being more sweet rather than salty. You can also have a go at the Salt & Pepper Chicken Rice (S$9.90) and the Taiwan Crispy Pork Rice (S$9.90).

For something out of the norm, try the Braised Pork Ramen (S$9.90) instead (let me know if the combination works).

There’s also 3 kinds of cold noodle salads which I’m quite excited to try: the Shredded Chicken Noodles Salad (S$8.90), Smoke Duck Breast Noodles Salad (S$8.90) and Vegetable Noodles Salad (S$7.90).

If you’re heading there in a group or simply possessing a raging appetite, you can take your pick from their variations of side dishes such as Tempura Enoki Mushroom (S$4.90), Edamame (S$4.90), Crispy Pork (S$6.90) and Salt & Pepper Chicken (S$6.90).

To wash down all that food, Tái Kitchen also sells a variety of milk teas, fruit teas, pure teas, and honey teas to quench your thirst. Some of the options include Lychee Green Tea (S$4), Earl Grey Milk Tea (from S$4) and Fresh Milk Assam Tea (S$4.50).

It looks like there’s another spot to checkout during lunchtime for those working in the CBD district. Do give it a try and let me know if it’s worth it.
