Sink Your Teeth Into Free Flat Iron Steak At The Feather Blade In Telok Ayer On 2 Mar

I’m sure everyone has heard about the famous Flat Iron Steak in London. I don’t know about you, but a ticket to London is not the most wallet-friendly at the moment.

Feather Blade 6

Enter The Feather Blade in Zui Hong Lou along Club Street — your answer to getting delicious and affordable steak.  The Feather Blade is a pop-up concept, and its official launch is on 2 March 2019.

Feather Blade 3

The Feather Blade uses a cut of steak known as the flat iron or feather blade, which is derived from the cattle’s shoulder and known for its hearty flavour and tenderness. It’s a lesser-known cut of steak, but one that is tasty nonetheless.

Every plate of steak comes up to about S$21 and is glazed with butter and sprinkled with smoked salt.

While The Feather Blade is heavily inspired by the founder Sheen Jet Leong’s time at The Flat Iron, The Feather Blade definitely has more of an Asian slant. The Feather Blade offers a whole plethora of sides and sauces to complement those succulent slices of beef.

After all, what is steak without a whole host of sides? From a medley of mushrooms to Creamed Spinach (S$7) to everyone’s perennial favourite Mashed Potatoes (S$7), these sides are perfect for sharing.

But first, and more importantly, on to the steak. As a huge steak lover, I just went for it.

Well, it did not disappoint, because the steak was unbelievably buttery and juicy. I loved how the large flakes of smoked salt elevated each slice of beef. Needless to say, I was going in for the second piece before I was done with my first.

The Feather Blade has also curated a bespoke collection of classic and Asian-inspired house-made sauces. Mala lovers, try the Asian Sichuan Peppercorn sauce, though I preferred my steak with the punchy Horseradish Cream with chives.

Of course, if you are a stickler for tradition, classics such as Bearnaise and French Red Wine are also available and excellent choices.

Now, this is where the deal gets even better. On their official launch day, 2 March 2019, The Feather Blade will be offering complimentary steaks for everyone.

Yup, you read that right, free steak! So mark your calendars and head down to sink your teeth and steak your claim.

But if you can’t make it on their official launch day, fret not, The Feather Blade will still be around for eight weekends starting 2 March 2019.

Plus, from 5 April 2019 onwards, their pop-up will include Fridays as well. Now, Fridays will be a little tastier.
