Flips N Dips is a new kid on the block at Cantine food court located within the basement of Paya Lebar Square. 2 Singaporean friends, Seb and Fai, have teamed up to open this Muslim-Western food stall— one’s a Western chef, the other a club DJ.

Seb’s relentless pursuit of new flavours perfectly aligned with Fai’s quest for a culinary collaborator to bring his flavour visions to life. Together, they embarked on a culinary adventure, fusing the opulence of Malay spices into Western favourites.

In order to perfect their grasp of Malay flavours, both of them ventured into the most authentic Muslim food stalls and trained under the supervision of strict makciks (Malay aunties).

By learning from these mentors who had a low threshold for error, this crucial experience not only increased their appreciation for the heritage of Malay spices but also edged them nearer to their culinary goal.

A menu standout, the Flamo Beef Burger (S$8.50) features a beef patty crowned with lusciously melted cheese. A tantalising masak merah sauce, delivering a delightful kick, is generously slathered over the patty, and the masterpiece is completed with the addition of four tater tots for a bit of crunch. All of this flavour-packed goodness is sandwiched between 2 soft burger buns.

Another dish that you should try is the Lemak Chilli Padi Pasta w Grilled Chicken (S$8) which is a flavour haven with the combination of aromatic chilli padi and garlic with a creamy finish.

The main courses like Fish & Chips (S$9) and Grilled Chicken Cutlet (S$7.90) are served with fries, coleslaw and mantou. You’ll also be given a choice of basic sauces such as mushroom, black pepper, lemak chilli padi or nacho cheese to be served with your mains.
