What comes to mind when you think of neighbourhood sandwiches? Perhaps semi-hardened thin loaves with cold kaya and margarine disguised as butter, or overly soft crustless bread with a ration of questionable tuna and mayo spread. With Folk Yard, those days are over!
Opened on 4 Oct 2022 just outside of Potong Pasir MRT, Folk Yard ensures that the neighbourhood’s need for delicious sandwiches are met with its use of quality ingredients. All their bread, which includes shokupan and sourdough, are made in-house.
Currently, their menu consists of five sandwich selections. The Breakfast Sandwich (S$14) is made of shokupan bread, cheesy scrambled eggs, maple hash browns and candied bacon. Patty Melt (S$16) has sourdough bread, caramelised onions, gruyere cheese and a wagyu patty.
Diners looking for a more substantial bite can opt for the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich (S$15) which has shokupan bread, coconut slaw, buttermilk fried chicken and curry aioli.
Folk Yard also features classic sandwich options such as Grilled Cheese (S$14) with unique kimchi and pineapple dip, and Cold Cut Sandwich (S$16) that has blackforest ham, parma ham, arugula and cranberry jam. If you’re extra hungry, you can add on sides such as French Fries (S$4), Onion Rings (S$4), Sweet Potato Fries (S$4) and Brussels (S$5).
Folk Yard also has stellar drink options. The coffee option ranges from Black (S$4.50), White (S$5.50) and Mocha (S$6.50). Those not keen on caffeine can opt for Hot Chocolate (S$6), Matcha (S$6) and Houjicha (S$6).
They also have a selection of fermented drinks such as Kombucha (S$6), Water Kefir (S$6) and Dairy Kefir (S$7). If you’re bored of your neighbourhood sandwich options, remember Folk Yard!
