Hi Noodle at [email protected] offering noodles from $4.90 with HDL-inspired free flow condiment bar

When I chanced upon Hi Noodle on TikTok, I was really curious to try it out. It seemed like it was too good to be true! First, they offer Chinese noodles. Second, they serve up Chinese noodles at cheap prices. Third, they offer free ice cream, and lastly, it’s in town. Located in a prime central area, Hi Noodle at [email protected] feeds those who are looking for a quick and easy meal.

My whole experience at Hi Noodle was really seamless and interesting because everything was self-service. With no additional GST or service charges, you’re really just paying for a basic yet satisfactory meal at affordable prices.

You first need to make your order by the self-order counter, and its interactive display would present the myriad of options in an organised manner in front of you. They have a wide spread of selection, from dry noodles to sichuan soup noodles to rice bowls.

Not to mention, they also have a condiments station (similar to Hai Di Lao), where you can curate your own concoction of sauces.

I got the Scallion Oil Shrimp Noodle and the Spicy Crayfish Noodle. These options differ vastly in their spice levels— just in case either might taste too extreme, I could hop to the next bowl to alleviate the spices.

For S$7.90, the Scallion Oil Shrimp Noodle came with a generous portion of shrimps. Not bad! I was first hit with a strong fragrance of scallion oil and fried scallions — which I deem a very important feature in my Chinese noodles. Many dishes can be drenched in oil with a douse of spring onions but at Hi Noodle, these were definitely stir-fried with an abundance of scallions. Just like how I like it!

Next, the Spicy Crayfish Noodle (S$14.90) definitely packed a punch. It was loaded with peppers and chilli— definitely a pick for those who can tolerate spice. The noodles were springy and the portion was just right.

And to end off with a bang, free ice cream! Who doesn’t like free things? The ice cream is vanilla flavoured and it’s honestly very milky. This particular section reminded me of Ikea, as they also have these interactive machines for you to attain your own cone.

You have to return your tray by the tray-return counter in order to receive a token for this. You can either opt for a free cup of coffee or a free ice cream cone.

All in all, Hi Noodle gave me a quick and pleasant adventure as I conquered my meal over here. Totally coming back for another cone!
