Have you been missing the popular Swedish blue box stores? You’d be glad to know that this 19 June 2020, IKEA Singapore will be reopening its doors to the public after 73 days of closure. That means you can go get new furniture and decorations to spruce up your home!

The two megastores in Singapore will be undergoing a change in store hours as well, to ensure customers’ safety amidst their reopening.

For the Alexandra branch, they’ll be open from 10am to 9pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and 10am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The Tampines outlet will be open from 11am to 9pm on Sundays to Thursdays, and 11am to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

There will also be a limit of one person per every 10 square metres of floor area, and there will be strict crowd control measures put in place to ensure social distancing.

Unfortunately for all the foodies out there, IKEA’s food operations will not be opening with the store from the get-go. However, they’ll eventually start operating again in the two weeks to come, so keep a lookout for announcements if you’re looking forward to their famous Swedish meatballs and chicken wings.

You might also want to leave the little ones at home or in the care of a sitter while you’re shopping for your furniture because Småland will be closed for the safety of all children.

Everyone, including customers and IKEA employees, is required to wear a mask at all times, and IKEA will be using SafeEntry and thermal monitors to ensure everyone’s safety.

Even though IKEA Singapore is reopening to the public, they encourage their customers to shop from home if it is possible. To avoid the inconvenience and crowds, head down to any of the IKEA outlets on a weekday instead of a weekend.

Remember to stay safe during this safe reopening. Happy shopping!
