Keep Chef Jeremmy & Friends Company At Le Binchotan’s Supper Special 2019 For Three Weekends From 25 Apr – 30 Jun

I made my virgin trip to Le Binchotan last year, and till today, I can still vividly recall the crisp, briny flavours of its signature Uni And Caviar appetiser. It’s one of my personally recommended places to check out for adventurous foodies, and now you’ll have one more reason to visit!

Chef-owner Jeremmy Chiam has rallied some of his closest culinary allies to present to you Supper Special 2019, an event that began last year as a tribute to our National Day, from 25 April – 30 June 2019.

Running concurrently during this programme, there another special-within-a-special programme called Jeremmy & Friends, that will run from 9.30pm till midnight on the dedicated week, on Friday and Saturday. He’ll have a guest chef with him every session for a total of three sessions, with each one held over one weekend.

Chef Jeremmy will showcase three small and three big plates through the entire run of Supper Special, however during the Jeremmy & Friends events, there will be one big plate and one small plate from Chef Jeremmy himself, and one big plate and one small plate from the guest chef of the evening. You’ll be delighted by local flavours that sing to the tune of ‘heritage’ and ‘culinary background’, which reflects each guest chef’s strengths and favourite flavours.

As a pre-requisite of the limited-run Jeremmy & Friends programme, full servings of both Chef Jeremmy’s and his guest chef’s dishes (two big plates and two small plates) will be available for every diner’s first order at S$35++. After which, the other items on Supper Special menu will be available as a la carte orders.

Some of Chef Jeremmy’s highlights include this mouth-watering Prawn Noodle Soup that’s been simmering for four hours. It’s done Hakata-style and trust me, you’ll want to slurp every last bit of soup shamelessly once you’re done.

There’s also the Uni Congee, which is a ‘high SES’ porridge that’s laden with a generous scoop of uni and a modest slab of foie gras.

Starting in April, Chef ArChan Chan of LeVeL33 will whip up Stir-Fried Clams In XO Sauce, an exceptionally hearty and lip-smackingly delicious dish. The homemade XO sauce was a savoury stunner that had me mopping up the leftover sauce with the accompanying unique mantous.

Be dazzled by Chef Sam Chablani from Fat Lulu’s who has a #noburnnotaste philosophy. Check out the succulent Iberico Pork Sataytay and Chicken Wings, both of which were charred to perfection! Simply done, it’s exactly what you would need as a late-night snack.

Then there’s Chef Damian D’Silva from Folklore with his Pork Belly And Cucumber Salsa. This may look deceptively tame, but it was a firecracker on the tongue with its tangy and spicy notes.

What’s supper without some extra booze for the road? For the whole duration of Supper Special 2019, you’ll get to sip on refreshing Yuzu Beer (S$15++), courtesy of LeVeL33. They’ve adapted a lager recipe that’s been matured with the zest of Japanese yuzu.

There was a running joke that Chef Jeremmy has continued the Supper Special because he doesn’t have any friends, so why not gather your own friends and keep him company at this once-a-year event?

Even if you don’t walk away with Chef Jeremmy as a follower of your Instagram account, at least you’ll leave Le Binchotan with your bellies full!
