Lime House Caribbean brings authentic Caribbean cuisine to the East with their second outlet in Katong

Lime House Caribbean has made Caribbean food more accessible with the opening of its second outlet in Katong.

The restaurant, which opened its first outlet in Keong Saik nine years ago, offers a variety of authentic Caribbean cuisine, including tapas, mains, sides and desserts.

Lime House Caribbean’s tapas include Doubles (S$16), a kind of starter popular in Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana, which consists of home-made Barra bread topped with curried chickpeas, spicy tamarind sauce and mango chutney.

Their Jerk Chicken Skewers (S$20), on the other hand, are marinated for a minimum of 24 hours before being grilled and baked to achieve its rich, dark colour. Finished with sweet and spicy pineapple salsa, this tapas is a true Caribbean classic.

Fill yourself up with their mains, like Granny’s Stew Kitchen (S$29), made with boneless stewed chicken in a blend of herbs and spices, and Carnival Market – Red Snapper (S$32), featuring red snapper marinated in spices, topped with mango salsa and served with a side of baked potatoes and vegetables.

There’s no better way to end a meal than with a sweet treat, like Lime House Caribbean’s homemade Chocolate Mousse (S$14).

Alcohol-lovers can enjoy Lime House Caribbean’s wide selection of drinks. The Rum Flights bring exotic rum to Singapore, like the Flight of Single Barrel Selection (S$96), which incorporates flavours from the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mauritius.

Meanwhile, the Flor de Cana Flight (S$59) comes with premium rum enriched and fertilised by the San Cristobal Volcano in Nicaragua.

Lime House Caribbean’s new outlet in Katong scores another point for Easties. I’m looking forward to paying a visit soon.
