On 5 Apr 2023, Lola’s Cafe opened their newly renovated flagship store in Kovan. The outlet presents a fresh look with elements similar to the interior design of their Holland Village branch.

As a former student of Serangoon Junior College, my group of friends thought us lucky to have Lola’s Cafe only a stone’s throw away from the institution. I am certain we were not the only ones obsessed with neighbourhood cafes. Besides constant long queues, they used to implement a strict 1-hour dining time. One cannot blame them for this measure— I mean, just how long can one contain their cravings for a basket of those wings? Not long.

Fortunately for those intending to takeaway beverages and desserts, the newly installed Coffee & Desserts Bar set up within the cafe enables quicker service. The former offers options such as the Specialty Black Cold Brew (S$6), Yuzu Matcha Handcrafted Soda (S$6.50) and a list of Craft Beers (S$10/11)

I highly urge readers to have a taste of their bakes including the classic Lola’s Chocolate Cake (S$6.50), the Hummingbird Cake (S$6.50) and Lemon Basil Cheesecake (S$8) if you are up for something more adventurous.

Upholding the belief that “good food doesn’t have to be complicated”, the kitchen team behind Lola’s Cafe has whipped up simple but enticing food options in their latest menu.

No visit to Lola’s Cafe should be unaccompanied with their Honey Paprika Crispy Wings (S$13). Even with obvious simple ingredients, the team has succeeded in earning the loyalty of many through this sweet and savoury appetiser.

Come during sun down for a delectable dinner serving fusion food at fairly affordable prices. Think Italian staples with a creative twist like the Spicy Tomato Crab Rigatoni (S$20) or the Pork Collar with Barley Risotto (S$19)

Lola’s Cafe continues to hold a special place in my heart. I feel proud that they are able to preserve that familiar homely vibe despite growing rapidly as a business. Head down during non-peak hours to experience the serene environment— trust me, you won’t be able to relish that special moment during crowded occasions!
