Perhaps it’s time to visit Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) this weekend as Malaysian Food Street will be permanently closing. The iconic eatery that’s been active for more than 10 years will cease operations on 16 Feb.

There previously had not been an official announcement, and customers found out about the closure through word of mouth. Staff members had confirmed to guests that Malaysian Food Street would be closing and that those with VIP discount vouchers would have to use them before the closing date.
An official notice for the closure can now be found on the RWS website, where it also states that the food street will “reopen with a brand-new name and concept later this year”. This is said to be a part of RWS’s plan to revamp their dining scene, alongside the addition of several new restaurants like Sugarra and Ka-Mon.

Opened in 2012, Malaysian Food Street is a popular go-to spot for tourists and Singaporeans alike visiting Sentosa for its many food options. There’s no doubt that many of us have rather fond memories of having a meal here before or after a Universal Studios Singapore (USS) or S.E.A. Aquarium trip.

Consisting of 19 stalls serving Malaysian hawker fare, it promises an experience that mimics an authentic Malaysian food trip without having to cross the Causeway. The vast variety of dishes originating from Malaysian cities like Malacca and Ipoh ranges from claypot chicken rice to char kway teow and chendol.
Malaysia Food Street closing for good is something most of us never expected to happen so soon. Before it’s too late, bring your family and friends down to RWS to bid the nostalgic food court goodbye before it ceases operations on 16 Feb.
