Come 1 July, life as we knew it will cease to be the same. Okay, so I’m a little dramatic, but can you blame my little, fried chicken-loving heart? The news of McDonald’s making the ever-adored Chicken McCrispy a permanent menu item has already excited Singaporeans from Bedok to Yishun. Besides, the last time I was this happy about a new menu item, Ms ‘Rona wasn’t even around to see it.
Chicken McCrispy Meals
Having these fried, juicy, spicy chicken drumsticks and thighs at our disposal on the menu means that I no longer need to pile on boxes and boxes of McWings like a weird person just to scratch that spicy fried chicken itch. Relief comes by way of the Chicken McCrispy Extra Value Meal (from S$8.40) which will score you two pieces of fried chicken, one medium fries, and a small coke.
Otherwise, if you’re an insatiable fried chicken pit like I am, opt for the Value Bundle (from S$21.50) that entails six pieces of fried chicken, two medium fries, and two small cokes.
McDonald’s first started serving the Chicken McCrispy 19 years ago, but fans were heartbroken when the McCrispies ended their run. Now that it’s back, and back for good, all is right with the world again.
Merchandise
If you just can’t get enough of the crispy goodness, keep it with you permanently with limited-edition Chicken McCrispy merchandise like an adorable giant drumstick plushie which sits in a bucket, and a specially-designed T-shirt that reads, “My love at first bite” at the back. And ain’t that the truth.
