With over 2,000 reviews and an average of 4.8 stars on Google, saying that diners simply enjoy Misato’s food would be an understatement. Sadly, Misato is set to be closing sometime in April, with owner Tony Young stating that this closure is due to The Centrepoint’s redevelopment plans and their pre-terminated lease.

Located in the heart of Orchard, Misato’s Japanese-themed decor creates a comforting and warm dining atmosphere for diners. Its use of wood mirrors the Japanese aesthetic of minimalism and sustainability, giving it a homely vibe.

They are also known for their unique plating and presentation style — Misato dishes don’t just look good visually but taste good as well.

Diners rave about Misato’s Okonomiyaki (S$19.90), which is stuffed with cabbage, egg and pork belly. Its exterior is crispy, and the savoury okonomiyaki sauce oozes out when you bite in. The hearty filling balances its light texture.

Another fan favourite is the Sudaci Soba (S$19.90), which stands out for its adorable presentation. This dish features a rabbit-shaped daikon and Japanese citrus fruits, served on top of soba immersed in cold dashi stock. It is citrusy and light, good for diners who want something refreshing.

How can I forget the star of the show, the A5 Wagyu Hoba Miso Yaki (S$68.80)?  Diners can enjoy high-quality wagyu beef, which is not only tender but also melts in your mouth. For its quality, it is priced rather affordably.

Misato’s mains aren’t the only few dishes worth raving about, as their desserts don’t fall short of expectations either. The Warabi Mochi (S$11), comprising 3 flavours — goma, kinako and matcha — features a soft chewy dessert that is sweet and appetising. If you fancy something more silky and easily digestible, the Bavarois (S$11.90) is their premium French pudding. Customers can select between the goma or matcha flavour.

When asked on their social media posts if they were set to be closed temporarily or permanently, Misato asked diners to stay tuned for their next post, hinting at the possibility of a new outlet opening soon.

Loyal fans of Misato should continue to look out for their future social media posts for updates.
