Taco Bell. Chipotle. Cinnabons. I could continue listing some of the prized, very American fare we Singaporeans have been missing out on for a very long time. But at least now, the OG Cruffins won’t be one of them. Mr Holmes Bakehouse has finally arrived on our sunny shores, with its very-pink flagship right on the cusp of Pacific Plaza.
All priced at S$5.80, the highly-coveted Cruffins come in Mint Chocolate Chip, Tiramisu Cream, and my favourite, the Peanut Butter Milkshake. But don’t just take my word for it, snag all three of them and decide for yourself. And while you’re at it, choose from an extensive beverage menu to pair with your already-decadent afternoon treat.
Find coffee selections such as Espresso (S$4.50), Cappuccino (S$6.5), Latte (from S$6.50), as well as tea-based drinks like Kombucha (S$8) and Art of Tea (from S$6).
The Yellowpink Croissant (S$7.50) is a specially-themed pastry counterpart of “The Mighty Hijack”, the in-store pop-up with toy design studio, Mighty Jaxx. The collaboration between Mr Holmes Bakehouse and Mighty Jaxx has also led to the birth of Monixx, a feisty yellow-pink clad, pink-streaked character that makes her appearances via in-store displays, a stylised vending machine loaded with collaboration merchandise, and also even mobile phones via an AR filter which guests can use.
But if we’re speaking croissants, then I’d highly vouch for the Ham & Cheese (S$7) variant which is an umami celebration of rich, savoury elements that’s everything I love.
The sweet-toothed might fancy the Matcha Croissant (S$5), which really, is a matcha-dipped pastry that’s equal parts sweet and fluffy. For other interesting bakes, there’s also the Cinnamon Concha Sweet Bun (S$4), Sticky Bun (S$6), Cheesecake Crème Brûlée Danish (S$7), Pulled Pork Sandwich (S$16), and a glorious Bacon Habanero Sandwich (S$13).
“When I was first introduced to Mr Holmes Bakehouse, what drew me to them was their expressiveness through pastries and their tongue-in-cheek attitude that’s refreshing in a craft that typically holds tradition in high regard,” shares Vijay Pillai, CEO of Caerus Holding.
Mr Holmes Bakehouse opens daily from 8am to 6pm.
