A little part of me is still sad that I had to cancel my poly graduation trip to Japan last year in light of the pandemic, seeing how my friends and I had scheduled visits to sushi bars, ramen joints, and promised each other to eat our body weight in donburi. Even though those plans didn’t come to fruition, I have to admit that Singapore has no shortage of Japanese fare like the newly opened Sapporo Misono at Millenia Walk to tide me through until the borders open again.

Even if you can’t be there in person, experience Hokkaido’s winter wonderland right here on sunny Singapore with Keisuke’s first-ever Hokkaido specialty ramen concept. I don’t think anything screams comfort food as much as a bowl of hot ramen soup, especially so if you’ve been reminiscing about old family holidays to Japan.

Sapporo Misono offers a variety of ramen in various categories that promises to satisfy even the pickiest eater. Take your pick from Hokkaido Sapporo RamenTonkotsu RamenSpicy Tonkotsu Ramen, and Hokkaido Miso Tsukemen, and let yourself go on a mini ‘vacation’ to Hokkaido without having to leave Singapore.

For those who want something familiar and comforting, Sapporo Misono’s Hokkaido Sapporo Ramen (S$12.90) will be a good contender, and those who want a switch from their go-tos might prefer the butter and corn special Scorched Shoyu Ramen (S$16.90). It’s not a stretch to declare ramen as an elite-tier meal for most Singaporeans, making it kismet that Sapporo Misono is ready to satiate all cravings with their Hokkaido Miso Tsukemen (S$13.90). Think rich broths, onsen eggs and smoky chashu—I know sweet dreams are made of this.

Sapporo Misono also offers sides such as Hokkaido Potato Mochi (S$6.90) that might be the cherry on top of an already-comforting meal made up of your favourite Japanese foods.
