We had the Plant Balls (which my best friend Yvonne is helplessly in love with), then there were the Mala Chicken Wings. It seems like IKEA Singapore’s hell-bent on surprising us in the best way possible time and time again. This summer, two new contenders join the ring, and we think you’re going to want to sit tight for this one.

The Half Lobster with Laksa Spaghetti (S$16.50) is IKEA’s Singaporean spin on the perennial pasta dish and one that sounds as delicious as it does local. A handsome claw-on half lobster sits atop a bed of laksa-coated spaghetti is something I’d shelf my diet for; besides, the two stems of broccoli on the side must mean it’s a balanced meal…right?

This dish will be available from 12 July 2021 onwards due to shipping delays.

To make a classic dish just that bit more fun, there’s also the Fish and Chips with Nacho Cheese Sauce (S$7.90) that’s testament to the unfailing, iconic nacho cheese and fries pairing. It’s exactly what you think it is—crispy, battered fish paired with a handful of fries and drizzled with decadent nacho cheese, and of course, we can’t forget the iconic pair of broccoli bunches.

The new dishes are available for dine-in, as well as takeaway via IKEA’s Click and Dabao function and savour them safely at home.

For more local food at IKEA, be sure to keep a lookout for their daily specials like Fried Mee Tai Mak (S$2.50) on Mondays, Mee Rebus (S$2.50) on Fridays, Fried Carrot Cake (S$2.50) on Saturdays, and a veggie treat on Sundays with Vegetarian Bee Hoon (S$2.50).
