Taiwanese food lovers, has this thought ever crossed your mind? Sandwiching crispy XXL chicken cutlets between 2 delectable potato buns to give those simple, straightforward slabs an extra dimension of enjoyment. That fusion of favourites from the East and West is what Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks has cooked up for this season of Christmas celebrations.
While others turn to the sweet and saccharine ahead of festivities, they have opted to launch their spiciest item yet. If you’re familiar with the XXL Crispy Chicken (S$6.30), they are now also part of the new Super Ultra Spicy Burger.
Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks will be offering the Super Ultra Spicy Burger in Single patty (S$8.50 a la carte, S$11.80 set) and Double patty (S$9.90 a la carte, S$13.20 set) choices. There are 3 tiers of spice level: No Spice, Regular Spice and Super Spicy.
If you didn’t find their XXL Crispy Chicken spicy enough, not to worry. To up the ante, these burger patties have been given extra lashings of chilli powder. Each burger is constructed with a fried egg, a slice of cheese and plenty of crispy lettuce on top of the XXL Crispy Chicken.

While not immediately searing, the heat mounts gradually with each bite; the initial numbing sensation grew to a world of hurt when I reached the halfway point.
If you’re like me, the Honey Lemon Cooler (S$3.20) and Sweet Plum Potato Fries (S$3.50/S$4.60) that come free with the set meals are definitely needed to temper the flames.
To celebrate the launch of their new burger, customers can enjoy a Buy-One-Get-50%-Off from 23 Nov to 30 Nov 2023. After that, a Shihlin Buddy Meal will be priced at just S$19.90 from 1 Dec to 31 Dec 2023, perfect for sharing with a friend.
