Reconnect with nature at Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park’s Heritage Festival, held from 5 to 13 Sep 2026, 9am – 10pm daily. This gives us 9 days of tours, workshops, exhibitions, performances and more across both sites. Best of all, admission to this festival is free. However, some specific programmes may require registration.

The festival celebrates the rich history of 2 of Singapore’s most significant green spaces through a range of programmes. Plus, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so you’re visiting a living piece of heritage.

The first highlight for me is the Heritage Rally, which spans across various locations in both the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park. It runs daily from 9am – 5.30pm. I like that it’s a self-guided activity where visitors can discover different places along both routes.

At each stop, you’ll learn more about our flora and fauna and collect stamps along the way. These stamps can be used to redeem exclusive gifts such as a special-edition Gardens

If you love music as I do, there’ll be musical performances during this festival as well. The performances include The Garden Sessions with The Purple Symphony, Xinyao Lives On and Open Score Project. All 3 performances will be held at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage in Singapore Botanic Gardens.

The Garden Sessions with The Purple Symphony will be held on 5 Sep 2026, from 6pm 7pm. Xinyao Lives On will run on 12 Sep 2026, from 5.30pm 7pm, while Open Score Project will take place on 13 Sep 2026, from 6pm 7pm.

Besides the music and trails, there’ll be guided tours, workshops and even movie screenings. Do note that some activities require registration.

If you’re worried about your legs getting tired while wandering about, there will be free shuttle bus services between Singapore Botanic Gardens and Fort Canning Park from 9am 10pm on weekends. The buses will run approximately every 15 to 20 minutes. Do note that the last shuttle is expected to depart between 9.30pm and 9.40pm.
