A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… Just kidding, it’s only in Japan. In celebration of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, OH MY CAFE has launched Star Wars-themed cafes at five locations around the country. As much as I wish this was indefinite, OH MY CAFE has set a time limit on the theme and it varies with each location.
The cafe’s interior is adorned with themed conceptual art for fans to marvel at while they tuck into their delectable meals. Imagine sipping on a lightsaber drink and being able to immerse yourself in the Star Wars Universe.
If you’re a fan, you’ll definitely love it.
Delving into some of the food items on the menu, and you can see that OH MY CAFE has really followed this concept to the tee. Some food items available include Black Curry from a Galaxy Far Far Away (JP¥1,590), Crimson Darth Vader Roast Beef Plate (JP¥1,690), BB-8 Shrimp Gratin (JP¥1,690) and the R2-D2 and C-3PO Buddy Burger Plate (JP¥1,990).
If the names of the dishes don’t already get you hyped up, wait till you see how adorable they are.
If you’re still not sold on these lovable treats, you can also pick from a selection of character Lightsaber drinks. As of now, there are three available—the melon-flavoured Yoda drink (JP¥600 for the drink alone, JP¥1,300 including the coaster), the blood orange-flavoured Darth Vader drink (JP¥600 for the drink alone, JP¥1,300 including the coaster) and the sweet ramune soda-flavoured Luke Skywalker drink (JP¥600 for the drink alone, JP¥1,300 including the coaster).
OH MY CAFE has also provided the option of taking a little piece of the dining experience back home if you’re not a fan of purchasing merchandise. Their Black Than Black Black Coffee is exactly as its name suggests—black coffee in a souvenir bottle (JP¥600 without the bottle, JP¥ 1,750 including the bottle).
What’s interesting is that each bottle is jazzed up with the iconic opening crawl from one of the nine Star Wars movies.
Not forgetting what the fans love the most, OH MY CAFE has original merchandise for sale on top of merchandise from other suppliers. From magnets to files, I’m sure you’ll be itching to take something home.
