Can’t function without your morning coffee fix? Maybe heading to the largest Starbucks Roastery in the world in Tokyo’s hipster district, Nakameguro, might help!
This four-storey roastery is even larger than the Shanghai Reserve Roastery, offering consumers a high-class experience. They’ll be roasting more than 680,000kg of coffee for the Japanese market every year. Talk about a caffeine addiction!
The shop also features an origami-inspired wooden tiled ceiling, the world’s largest Teavana tea bar and even Starbucks’ first-ever cocktail bar in Japan. Served in two ochoko sake cups, the Tokyo Pour Over (JP¥3,000) is a cocktail made with filter-brewed coffee and Japanese whisky.
Check out some of their exclusive drinks too, like the Barrel Aged Cold Brew (JP¥1,200), which is made from coffee beans aged in bourbon whisky barrels.
If you’re feeling peckish, you can also sample some of the treats from Fukusaya Castella. Japan’s oldest castella bakery will be coming up with a cake set just for the Tokyo roastery.
From the classy decor to the exquisite drinks, this Starbucks in Tokyo should definitely be on your must-visit list if you’re travelling to Japan.
