With a name like Sure Come Back Wanton Mee, one would expect the stall to be there to go back to. However, this is not the case for this stall in Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre, which will be closing on 27 Jun 2023.
Having been featured in a variety of publication content (including us), Sure Come Back Wanton Mee gained quite the fame, thanks to their signature dish of wanton mee. This closure may not be a surprise to those who have heard of the closure of owner Raymond’s other concept Reimondo Congee.
According to the handwritten notice of closure at the stall, the reason is that Raymond is switching careers. He will return to being an assistant mechanic in the car trade.

However, there is hope that this stall will live on. Sure Come Back Wanton Mee is currently up for sale, together with its branding and business plans, as well as recipes. Perhaps, an interested party will take over this hawker stall in the near future.
While the stall’s future remains uncertain, we can be sure of one thing: it will definitely be missed. The wanton mee here is the product of a lot of hard work. The heavy preparation is evident from the complex flavours of their on-site smoked char siew and specially-sourced duck egg noodles.
Although on the pricier side — Deluxe Bowl (S$5) and Premium Bowl (S$8)— many deem this wanton mee well worth the price point. Personally, I found the tiger prawn rolls incredibly tasty.
For the people convinced to sure come back, be sure to head down before 27 Jun 2023 for a final bowl and, possibly, a final goodbye. Many good wishes and thanks to Raymond and the team for providing a local favourite for many to enjoy!
