The National Day specials never seem to end, and we’re not complaining! There’s such a wide range of things to try out that you begin to wonder what exactly can pop up now. This time around we’ve got a yum dessert with a dose of local to it, a combo we can never say no to. For something new this season, Tom’s Palette introduces the Black & White, a limited edition item available only until 31 Aug 2022

Famous for their unique gelatos, Tom’s Palette has a new addition to their menu and it’s actually a soybean soft serve, all here to cool you down for the summer. The cup also holds grass jelly, peanut crumble, and caramelised dough fritters, and it can’t get more Singaporean than that. Indeed, the Black & White is inspired by the local drink which is half soy milk mixed with half grass jelly. The name originates from one of the most popular songs of the king of pop, Michael Jackson’s “Black or White”.

Of course, with gelato being their specialty, you ought to try some of those. They come in versions like Affogato (S$7.80), Teaffogato (S$7.80), Parfaits (S$7.80), Brownie Waffle (S$7.50, + 1 scoop S$4.50) just to name a few.

Their signature in-house flavours have us swooning. Some of these include Salted Caramel Cheesecake, Rum & Raisin, Yuzu, and even Salted Egg Yolk!. Unique is an understatement now. You’ll also never run out of fresh things to try with their daily specials that you can look up on their facebook page everyday, and head down to the spot when they’ve got a favourite up. The delish options include Hokkaido Milk, Honey Lavender, Mango Sticky Rice, and also dairy free options like Pistachio with Macadamia Nut & Cacao Nib Praline. There’s something for everyone to dig into!
