Just 3 months ago, I got to know Tracy who owns Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen, a kopitiam stall selling Eastern Malaysian fare at Geylang. She told me her wish was to open her own sit-down eatery, and now that dream has become a reality with the launch of her 2nd outlet at myVillage in Serangoon Gardens.

Her 30-seat independent eatery now occupies the former East Treasure Speciality Prawn Noodle location, and I had the pleasure of visiting her (pictured centre above) on its opening day on 2 Oct 2023.

The menu features Tracy’s signature items, including the Money Cai Longevity Noodles (S$8.80), consisting of mee sua stir-fried with egg and an abundance of ma ni cai (sweet leaf).

Similar to her coffee shop stall, there will be a container of pork lard for you to add to your heart’s content (but do enjoy it in moderation).

There’s also the 3 In 1 (S$8.80) that comes with white rice, a sunny side-up, Hakka braised pork and stir-fried ma ni cai with egg.

One unique offering over at their Serangoon Gardens outlet is the Luxury Kuching Kolomee (S$12.80). Besides the usual minced pork, the char siew is replaced by a serving of Hakka braised pork by the side, 4 peeled prawns and 2 mini abalones.

If you’re curious about the taste of the Hakka braised pork, just close your eyes and imagine it as a blend of Peranakan babi sioh and the filling of a Nyonya bak chang. If you haven’t had both dishes which I’ve just mentioned, then come try it for yourself!

Other noteworthy dishes to try on the menu are the Sarawak Laksa (S$8.80), Tomato Wok Hey Kuey Teow (S$8.80) and Wok Hey Stir-Fried Kolomee (S$8.80).

If your knowledge of Eastern Malaysian cuisine is limited to just Sarawak Laksa, Kampua mee and kolomee, then bring your family down to myVillage at Serangoon Gardens and broaden your horizons at Tracy’s Sarawak Kitchen.
