The renowned hawker stall, famous for its distinctively “ugly” muffins, is making a remarkable comeback with an entirely revamped menu.
Uggli Muffins, located at Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre and Jalan Besar, closed its doors last Oct. The closure came after owner Anton Tan could not find a successor to continue his legacy.

After 18 years of running the business, Tan announced his retirement due to the laborious nature of running the stall and his growing age.
However, this retirement did not mark the end of Tan’s journey.
Following the stall’s closure, Tan embarked on an adventure, spending time travelling the world. This journey was meant as a break from his business but a vacation in Paris unexpectedly reignited his passion for returning to the hawker world.
It was there, while waiting for a French crepe from a vendor, that Tan was struck with inspiration and decided to introduce crepes to his hawker stall fanbase.

With renewed passion, Tan made his comeback, reopening his business at the Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre on 4 Mar.
To celebrate the reopening, Tan has introduced a special promotion: each crepe is priced at S$2, and for every 5 purchased, customers will receive an additional crepe free of charge.
The menu now boasts 3 staple flavours: Fresh Banana, Fruit of the Day, and Nut of the Day. In addition to the traditional crepes, Tan has also ventured into offering sourdough crepes, catering to those wanting to try new and unique delights.
This exciting re-debut of the beloved hawker stall brings a fresh re-start to Tan’s hawker journey.
Whether you are a long-time fan of Uggli Muffins or a newcomer eager to try something different, Tan’s latest venture promises a delightful experience that you do not want to miss.
