Wan Hao kopitiam revamped - exterior of coffee shop

This 10-stall kopitiam is otherwise nondescript, tucked away amidst rows of HDB blocks. Don’t let that fool you— it’s known to be one of the more popular coffee shops in the Bukit Batok area.

Residents would already be familiar with most stalls that have been around for some time. For Bukit Batok first-timers, I’ll let you in on the haps of this kopitiam.

Wan Hao kopitiam revamped - japanese & korean cuisine stall

First up is a fresh face here at Wan Hao Kopitiam (Not in SG, though) — Popular Food Japanese & Korean Cuisine. It is a popular chain stall across the island, serving over 40 Japanese & Korean dishes that fortunately won’t burn a hole in your pocket.

As part of a special opening promotion, they are offering a free Pork Katsu (worth S$4.80) with the purchase of any one of the following dishes: Hotplate Saba Fish Set (S$6), Fat Beef Sukiyaki (S$8.80), Kaki Udon (S$5) and the Teriyaki Chicken + Japanese Potato Croquette Bento (S$6.50).

Wan Hao kopitiam revamped - viet corner stall

Look up Wan Hao Kopitiam online and you’ll see many comments that mention Viet Corner. It’s rare to see a stall in the kopitiam serving up authentic Vietnamese fare like their Special Beef Pho (S$7.50), Grilled Pork Chop Rice (S$5.50) and the best part, 9 types of Banh Mi starting from just S$5!

Wan Hao kopitiam revamped - new chef western stall

Next up: the token Western stall at every kopitiam. Meet New Chef Western, with 4.7 stars on Google and a menu of 50 dishes to choose from. From their Sirloin Butter Herb (S$16) and Farm Chicken Chop Lemon Butter Sauce (S$8.90) to Norway Salmon Steak Wasabi (S$13.80), there’s a high-quality, deliciously cooked protein for everyone.

Wan Hao kopitiam revamped - shun heng bbq stall

Shun Heng BBQ is perfect for those who want to indulge in a hearty cheat meal. Their BBQ Stingray (S$14/S$23) and BBQ Sotong (S$14/S$19/S$23) are popular picks amongst customers and are said to be fresh and tasty!

Craving local classics like fishball noodles, roasted meats and cai fan? They’ve got it all. Oh, and of course, the quintessential drink stall too.

There might be other kopitiams in the area, but surely, Wan Hao Kopitiam is a notch above the rest.
