Get ready for long queues at Star Vista’s B1 — Yo-Chi is opening its second outlet on 23 May!

The new outlet will offer the same DIY yoghurt concept as their Orchard Central location, known for queues stretching outside the mall. You’ll also spot the iconic, vibrantly colored Yo-Chi bear at the new store.
For the uninitiated, Yo-Chi is an Australian yoghurt chain that made its Singapore debut in Aug last year. It is popular for offering a variety of froyo flavours like the signature tart, matcha and mango. It even has acai as a flavour, which is not something most yoghurt stalls offer.
Yo-Chi’s highly customisable yoghurt has further added to the chain’s popularity. Rather than restricting customers to a single flavour and a limited number of toppings, customers can mix and match different yoghurt flavours and toppings within the same yoghurt tub.
Pricing is determined by weight, so there is no restriction on the amount of yoghurt or toppings taken.

Yo-Chi has also kept up with trends to maintain a steady flow of customers. In May, it introduced the Dubai Chewy Cookie as a limited-edition topping. While the topping is no longer offered at Yo-Chi stalls, another special topping is making a comeback. The Deconstructed Dubai Chocolate, which was launched in Jan, is back by popular demand.
Given Yo-Chi’s unique concept, it’s no wonder the chain has been so well-received in Singapore. I walked by the Orchard Central outlet a few days back, hoping to get my cup of froyo. Unfortunately, I was met with a snaking queue outside the shop. Expected, but a little disappointing.
I’m excited for Yo-Chi’s new opening at Star Vista. Hopefully, the new outlet will lead to shorter queues at both outlets, so that I won’t have to queue for my dose of froyo. I won’t get my hopes up too high, though, because as we all know, the Yo-Chi hype is going strong!
