Dad of YouFu Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle owner opens his own outlet

Singaporeans are crazy about locating the best hokkien mee around town. The father of the hawker who runs popular hokkien noodle stall YouFu Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodle has opened his own stall Chinatown. His son will continue operating his own stalls at Golden Mile (Beach Road) and Woodlands.

The new stall in Chinatown started operations on 1 Jul 2023.

Based on the popularity of the stall, one may think that the boss is an older hawker. However, the bosses are relatively young in comparison to most hawker stall owners in Singapore. Don’t doubt their wok skills though— the duo has been garnering a lot of attention for their perfectly-fried plates of hokkien noodles.

The outlet at Beach Road often sells out huge cauldrons of cooked noodles every evening. It is no wonder that they are expanding the business so rapidly! There are even countless comments on their Facebook page requesting that they open up outlets in various other locations across Singapore.

Fans of the local delight, what do you think are the components of a good plate of fried hokkien mee? Personally, the gravy should be the star of the dish. With an intense seafood and meat flavour, the noodles must be heavily seasoned with the natural juices from the stock.
