Sip, sip, hooray! If you’ve been hitting the bottle a little more during the COVID-19 pandemic, here’s how you can still get your boozy fix (especially during World Gin Day) and help bars in Singapore—with Zhen 真Gin.
Created by childhood friends Terence Loh and Min Teo, Zhen Gin was born of a desire to spark real life, real conversations, and real changes. This is Asia’s first climate-positive sipping gin that’s made from damaged rice crops. You can find out more about the story behind this unique artisanal gin from their website.
One of Zhen Gin’s goals is to give back to the community, so from now till 30 June 2020, up to 40% of bottle sale proceeds will go directly to bartenders. Bars have been hit particularly badly by the COVID-19 situation and subsequent measures—from end-March till now, and with no end in sight yet.
Terence and Min have come up with #BarTabSG, an initiative to provide direct financial support to bartenders. 20% of the sales proceeds go into a community fund that’s shared by eligible applicants, and the remaining 20% goes directly to bartenders through the sales they make.
Want to show some love to your favourite bartender? Send over a “shot” (180ml) of Zhen Gin on your tab, and 20% of the sales proceeds will go to #BarTabSG relief fund.
Get a taste of this artisanal gin through their online orders, in 500ml bottles (S$150) and 180ml mini bottles (S$60). Free delivery applies for orders above S$150, otherwise, there’s a S$5 delivery fee.
