Everyone’s getting in the mood for the month of our Singapore’s National Day 2020, and Ichiban Boshi is not afraid to innovate.

True to their brand, they have combined Singaporean flavours with sushi into creations like the Nasi Lemak Sushi (S$3.20), Popiah Roll With Aburi Salmon (S$4.20) and Chilli Crab Maki (S$6.00).

The Nasi Lemak Sushi involves a medley of quail egg, roasted peanuts, crispy ikan bilis and sambal chilli. Enjoy this array on a sushi rice ball finished with a slice of cucumber. See that face at the bottom right corner in the picture? That’s me.

Seems like it’s not National Day until chilli crab is involved. Stay fancy with an exciting combination of chilli crab sauce and sushi rice in the Chilli Crab Maki. Crab isn’t all that new to sushi, but the chilli is. Skip the soy sauce and wasabi and just pop that maki right into your mouth.

Two more creations I’m eager to sample are the Chicken Rice Maki (S$3.20) and the Chye Poh Hikiniku Maki (S$3.20). I’d like to see how the spicy Singaporean flavours interact with the more muted and tangy flavours in Japanese sushi.

Ichiban Boshi’s Nasi Lemak Sushi and other bite-sized Singaporean twists will only be here till 23 August 2020. They’re available for dine-in and takeaway at all Ichiban Boshi restaurants. So if you’re in need of a quick snack, think Ichiban Boshi Nasi Lemak Sushi.

Date & Time: Now available for dine-in and takeaway at all Ichiban Boshi restaurants until 23 August 2020

Price: S$3.20 – S$6 per sushi
