Avid foodies and shoppers alike definitely list Thailand as among the top few travel destinations. Situated less than three hours away by plane, the land of smiles truly provides the perfect weekend getaway for one to unwind, relax and most importantly, gorge on an array of street food. Sadly, my hopes of returning to Thailand this year were dashed as the pandemic situation worsened worldwide. I turned to the web for salvation, and soon found myself at Golden Mile.

Touted as Singapore’s very own ‘Little Thailand’, the 42-year old complex houses many Thai eateries and shops. Perhaps there is a silver lining after all. A little more digging and I found Thai Supermarket—a grocery store within Golden Mile Complex selling Thai products.

Here, customers can shop for brands not available in other supermarts like NTUC and Cold Storage. On 27 November 2020, the mart also launched its online store, providing customers with home delivery options for all their one-stop grocery needs.

Here are some uniquely Thai products which you can shop online:

Thai snacks

When you visit Thai Supermarket, tidbits are a must-buy. Snacks like chips and crackers come in highly exclusive flavours that you simply can’t find elsewhere. KFC-flavoured Lays potato chips (S$2.90) is but one example. Other noteworthy flavours include: Pizza Hut (S$2.90), and Scallop with Garlic Butter (S$1.90). Visit their online store here to browse more of their one-of-a-kind snack options.

Healthcare products

Those who have truly experienced Thailand will have tried Thai massages at least once. A highly soothing experience, one will no doubt feel their stress and worries float away. Now, you can have your very own at home, thanks to a variety of Thai healthcare and beauty products. Purchase herbal foot soaks (S$13.90) or a salt scrub to create your personal facial in the comfort of home.

Home cooks, this one’s for you. If you’re looking to whip up some Thai cuisine at home, it is a must to choose the right seasonings and sauces. Get your hands on bottles of Megachef Premium Fish or Oyster sauce (S$4.50), or purchase packets of Lobo Holy Basil seasoning (S$1.50) from Thai Supermarket to make a truly authentic Thai meal.

Thai beverages

Last but not least, Golden Mile Thai Supermarket also carries a plethora of Thai drinks such as ChaTraMue’s instant tea mix (S$3.50), in addition to many other bottled and packet drink options. You no longer have to go to Thailand to sip on Thai milk tea.

While we can’t go to Thailand for the time being, this will do nicely. Check out Thai Supermarket’s new opened online store here.

There is also a minimum order of S$25 to opt for home delivery. Payment options are preferably by Paynow, or by Visa/Mastercard.
