The F&B world shed a few tears last year when the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2020 didn’t take place due to the peak of the pandemic. Nonetheless, it only makes us extra excited this year—the MICHELIN Guide Singapore’s 5th anniversary—to announce the MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021. Although we still cannot attend in person, the virtual event took place online via a ‘LIVE’ broadcast on YouTube, on 1 September 2021.

In 2019, we saw a staggering total of 44 Michelin-starred restaurants being bestowed this honour, and so we ask, will we be able to match or even top that number this year? Well, wait no further as we announce the restaurants who have worked tirelessly to attain this accolade—especially during a time that’s been so bleak for many economies. In total there were 49 restaurants included in this year’s list, with three attaining the much-revered 3 MICHELIN Star. The following is the break-down of categories:

This also includes MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2021 Young Chef Award recipient, Chef Mark Tai, of Cloudstreet. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America with a Bachelor’s degree, he has certainly hustled his way up the ranks and we cannot be happier for him!

To recap, in 2021, we have a total of 41 1 MICHELIN Star restaurants, five 2 MICHELIN Star restaurants, and three 3 MICHELIN Star restaurants—which brings us to an impressive total of 49 entries in this year’s MICHELIN Guide Singapore list. Wow, just when we didn’t think we could top 2019’s list, we have come out stronger and with impeccable talent to show for. Congratulations to all the award recipients and we certainly look forward to dining at your restaurants in the near future.
