It seems that a F&B venture is growing in popularity amongst accomplished local artistes. We saw Li Nanxing’s collaboration with Ippudo Singapore back in late 2020, Pierre Png’s newly opened Tipsy Flamingo just a month ago, and now, joining the lineup of actors that shows us what it’s like to be a jack of all trades is Benjamin Tan. The local artiste is adding on to his already impressive portfolio as an actor, alongside running his curtains and blinds business, San Design. His new food court stall, Chef Bui Bui, opened a week ago, and aims to offer customers café-standard, fusion western food at wallet-friendly prices.

Located at Kaki Bukit Road, Chef Bui Bui is a spin-off of well known cafe Tittle Tattle. The stall offers the food that seasoned cafe hoppers will not be unfamiliar with. Think Salmon Mentaiko Donburi (S$9.50), which comes with a runny onsen egg and their signature broccoli, Sirloin Steak Pasta (S$16.90), or even a Shrimp Roll (S$11.50) served beside a helping of French fries.

If you’re making a trip down just to try this, their Signature Broccoli (S$10.50) is not to be missed. Don’t be deterred by the price point, these lok-lok style broccolis are dusted with seasoning and sure to make even the most ardent of vegetable haters reach for a second bite. Fans of fried chicken will also not want to miss out their Bui Bui Whole Chicken (S$18.90), an entire deep-fried chicken served with fries and signature broccoli that’ll have you smacking your lips and licking your fingers.

Benjamin can also be spotted at his own station at Chef Bui Bui on days when he’s not at a shoot. The actor plans on honing his skills at waffle-making, and will be assisting with making heartland bakery-style waffles that I, myself, ate far too often after school in the past.

End off your meal with their homemade Waffles (S$1.60) which are exclusive to the Kaki Bukit outlet. They are available with sweet and savoury options such as chocolate, kaya, mushroom and egg, or even chicken chop, if you’re not completely stuffed after your meal.
