Vinyl bars aren’t a new phenomenon; bar-goers love the chic and the old-school, so it’s only natural that the sub-culture of vinyl bars has spread to cities all over the world. While Singapore can’t boast of many besides the likes of RPM by D.Bespoke, the new Vertigo 26 promises a cool new experience for those who enjoy vinyl and tipples.

Hidden down in the basement of Museum of Toys, Vertigo 26 is a chic hangout spot dressed up in sleek blacks with streaks of wooden accents. You can find posters of classic indie and punk bands from the 70s and 80s like Sonic Youth and New Order plastered all over the space, bathed in the sexy neon pink of a sign that espouses the mantra of ‘turn off your mind, relax & flow downstream’.

For audiophiles, the space is a sanctuary in the day—a record store where a soundtrack of over 1,000 albums is curated for in-house listening. It’s a trip down the trends and the hidden corners of music history with picks from as many genres as your mind can conjure, ranging from pop darling Billie Eilish to the trailblazing Indie legends Talking Heads.

But really, the stylish little enclave was made perfect for one thing—drinks. Maybe not in a “shots, shots, shots shots shots” manner—though you can if you desire—but there is mixology talent on show here with alumni from places such as Summerlong and the Horse’s Mouth manning Vertigo 26’s bar. You can find concoctions at S$22, inspired by classic music hits such as a Milo-tinged Sweet Child O’ Mine (S$22) ad bubbly Champagne Supernova (S$22) to give you the same intoxicating hit you felt when you first discovered Guns N’ Roses or Oasis.

If cocktails aren’t your vibe, craft beers are also available from S$14—and we all know cold pints go best with food, which ranges from easy bites such as Nori Fries (S$9) and Crisps & Salmon Dip (S$9) to the heartier Crispy Duck Mandu (S$14) and an extravagant Grilled A5 Wagyu Rump (S$47). Either way, you’d leave with your heart and stomach full from both the tipples, bites, and immaculate ambience.
