Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market officially opened its doors to the public on 25 Jul 2022, and is located on the third floor of Fernvale Community Club. With high ceilings, adequate lighting, fans, and well-ventilated surroundings, having your meals here will be a comfortable affair.

With over 28 food stalls to choose from, patrons coming here will be spoilt for choice over what to fill their stomachs with. I took a walk around the hawker centre on an early Saturday morning, and the place was full of people. I noticed that there were quite a lot of famous noodle stalls there, and long snaking queues were formed in front of them. Let’s take a look at what’s available at this newly-opened Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market.

Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market - hawker stalls

The first stall that caught my eye was Seng Hiang Bak Chor Mee (#03-07)— its original outlet resides at Bedok 85 Market. They specialise in Bak Chor Mee Soup (S$4.50 for small, S$5.50 for large). Residents of Sengkang need not travel to Bedok anymore for this. Hurrah!

Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle (#03-14) is well-known for their signature Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee (S$5.50 for small, S$6.50 for medium, S$7.50 for large), that has their main stall at Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre. If curry isn’t your cup of tea, they also offer Satay Bee Hoon (S$5.50 for small, S$6.50 for medium, S$7.50 for large) and special items like Curry Shredded Chicken Noodle (S$3.20) and Satay Shredded Chicken Bee Hoon (S$3.20), which is only available at this new Fernvale outlet.

You no longer need to travel to Old Airport Road Food Centre, as Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle (#03-09) has also set up a stall here. You can find their signature items like Big Prawn Noodle (S$6 for medium prawn, S$10 for big prawn), but be prepared to queue.

I was also surprised to see China Whampoa Home Made Noodle (#03-12) as I recently visited their Geylang outlet for a food review. They have 12 varieties of ban mee for you to choose from, or go for their Fish Maw Soup (S$6) if you want something light.

Feng Xiang (#03-01) who is famous for their Herbal Bak Kut Teh (S$6.90 for small) and Fried Porridge (from S$5.90) is also here. This is currently their fourth and latest outlet.

For western food advocates, check out Fins & Feathers (#03-10), which has their original outlet at Pasir Ris Central Hawker Centre. It offers western cuisine like Mac “N” Cheese (S$3.20), Fish & Chips (S$8) and Beef Stroganoff (S$11.80). If you’re an Indonesian food lover like myself, be sure to visit Saudagar Penyek by Project Penyek (#03-21) that has Nasi Ayam Penyek (S$6) and Nasi Ikan Bakar (S$8).

Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market - market area

Besides the hawker centre, Fernvale Hawker Centre and Market also has a small market area selling various frozen food products, vegetables, and a Korean butchery/mart.

Head down over here when you are at the Sengkang vicinity, just a stone’s throw away from Seletar Mall. Trust me, you’ll be spoilt for choice!
