Circuit Road Hawker Centre houses some of Singapore’s most well-loved food. Be it fried prawn mee or claypot rice, many Singaporeans linger here for some great grub. However, DP Creations, the stall famous for authentic beef and chicken pies, will be closing on 30 Apr 2023.

This heavy news was broken through the stall’s Facebook page, with founders Daniel and Chef Pell thanking folks for their long loyalty and support to DP Creations. The reasoning they gave behind their closure was that the business was not longer as profitable due to increased rental cost.

However, this piece of news may have been on their minds for a good while, considering how DP Creations had changed their operating days to only Friday through Sunday. This was due to the lack of customers during the weekdays.

DP Creations — Pies

Having tried their pies way back in 2020, it goes without saying that we will definitely miss their Chicken Pie (S$2.50). The amount of filling was mighty impressive, especially considering its price. The creamy filling— made of carrots, peas, potatoes and chicken chunks— were accentuated with flavour, as compared to the crispy pie crust.

We, of course, cannot forget about their signature Australian Beef Pie (S$2.50), which is the crowd favourite of DP Creations. Full of incredibly well-seasoned minced beef, our team remembers it as one of the best pies they have ever eaten. DP Creations has memorable pies that Singaporeans have certainly sought after, which can be clearly seen from its Google rating of 4.5 stars.

Many of DP Creations’ fans are saddened by the news, but are nonetheless supportive of the difficult decision. My heart was thoroughly warmed by the many well wishes for the duo owners to have a good well-needed rest.

DP Creations announced that there may be a possibility of re-opening or continuing as a home-based business, so don’t lose hope. It would be best to support DP Creations and enjoy their pies while you still can!
