Never thought we wouldn’t be able to find braised duck at a braised duck store, but today’s the day. Take note that popular Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck Rice will NOT be selling their famed dish and kway chap until 23 Jun 2023.
Instead, they will be making Ark Chang during this period! Never heard of Ark Chang? It’s time you did, because it’s a unique braised duck bak chang that the store sells for a limited time and quantity every year.

For the uninitiated, Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck Rice is famous for their innovative take on duck rice. They fashion the rice into small, bite-size balls and market it as ‘Duck Rice Bentos’. The duck rice balls remind me of Malacca’s quintessential chicken rice balls!

The Bento Combo Jumbo Set (S$9) consists of 3 adorable duck rice balls, a mixture of kway chap, braised duck, ajitsuke tamago and sambal chilli. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both Instagrammable and delicious, be sure to check these out.
Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck Rice also has their own take on ramen in their The Quack Ramen Dry/Soup (S$6 for small, S$8 for large). Full of gamey slices of duck, this is a treat for duck lovers.
The store is selling their special Ark Chang to commemorate the upcoming Dragon Boat Festival. They use fresh pork and duck, and meticulously braise them to achieve a texture and taste that is to die for.

Packed with ingredients, each ‘regular’ Ark Chang is S$8, or if you want something more indulgent, you can opt for the Ark Chang with hae bi hiam or salted egg (S$9 each). Coupled with freshly pounded spices such as garlic and freshly peeled shallots, their Ark Chang promises to be delicious and aromatic.
If you’re looking to get your duck rice or kway chap fix, be sure to look elsewhere until 23 Jun 2023 in order not to leave empty handed. Otherwise, order the limited-edition Ark Chang from Jin Ji Teochew Braised Duck Rice for a taste of something special!
