Wow, it seems that Hana Japanese Restaurant at Forum The Shopping Mall has been on a culinary crusade, tirelessly unveiling fresh and exciting concepts in recent months. The restaurant recently introduced their all-new Vegetarian Omakase Sets in Sep 2023.

The world of omakase often leaves vegetarians feeling somewhat excluded, as these dining experiences traditionally revolve around the use of fish and seafood. Thankfully, the restaurant’s decision to incorporate a vegetarian menu now opens its doors to a wider clientele of customers.

There are 2 versions of the Vegetarian Omakase Sets, priced at S$38++ and S$58++.

Both sets feature the Instagrammable Daily Baked Japanese Bread With Kombu Butter, a simple yet artistically presented dish that looks like a butter candle. The dish allows you to slather the briny kombu butter onto your pieces of bread, which you break up with your hands (or utensils).

The S$38++ menu features dishes like Charcoal Grilled Eggplant, Marinated Shiitake Sushi, Crispy Broccoli and Shimeiji Karaage Sushi while the S$58++ version offers slightly fancier plates like Natto Maki, Somen with Truffle Dressing, Charcoal Grilled Brussel Sprouts and Japanese Yam Tempura.

Both vegetarian omakase set menus are available till further notice, but the restaurant could be making it a permanent fixture depending on its popularity. Do note that the menu can also be customised to make it vegan-friendly and allium free as well.
