Har. Har? Har

Har cheong gai lovers, this is your biggest dream come true. Serving clucking good variations of the staple zi char dish that can be enjoyed by all, Har Har Chicken! will be opening at Junction 8 on 5 Jul

Prioritising accessibility and convenience for customers, the takeaway kiosk was established by 4 not-so-ordinary friends united by their love for prawn paste chicken.

Who? These har cheong guys are LG Han, chef-owner of Michelin-Starred restaurant Labyrinth, Tay Jianli, owner of the now defunct Momma Kong’s (Chinatown’s popular seafood spot) and Bevin Desker, a former TiffinLabs’ Corporate Development Head who launched fried chicken brands like Phat Fingers. And of course, MasterChef Finalist turned famed chef-Instagrammer, Lennard Yeong

So, you can expect nothing less than a tantalising smorgasbord of har cheong gai-related delights rooted in a diverse blend of experiences. Let’s start with something light.

Served with chicken rice chilli and mayonnaise, I dare say that the HAR HAR Pops (S$4.80) are a must-try. These addictive bites are perfect for those who are looking to eat on-the-go! I mean it when I say “addictive” – I found myself popping chunk after chunk of these umami-filled pops that have such a satisfying crunch to them.

Fancy a HAR-burger (S$7.30)? Available in Spicy and Non-Spicy, Har Har Chicken!’s prawny spin-off from your regular hamburger features a big fat har cheong cutlet paired with fresh lettuce and tomato sandwiched between 2 fluffy buns. While the Spicy version has a punch from the tangy Sriracha Mayo, the latter is layered with creamy Regular Mayo

Here’s something for our hearty eaters. The HAR-ty Double Wing Rice Box (S$9.60) includes fragrant chicken rice topped with battered har cheong crust, 2 extremely succulent HAR HAR Wings (U.P. S$3.20 for 1 piece, S$18 for 6 pieces), the aforementioned garlicky-gingery chicken rice chilli and a side of refreshing achar-slaw that cuts through the jelat-ness of the otherwise heavy dish.

You may opt to top up S$1.20 for a Fried Egg too!

Don’t say bojio. Be sure to look out for Har Har Chicken!’s 1-for-1 Box Sets Opening Promotion from 5 to 7 Jul. Limited to 1 redemption per customer while stocks last, purchase a HAR-ty Double Wing Fry Box (S$7.80) to receive a free HAR-ty Cutlet Rice Box (U.P. S$7.60).
