When it comes to KL’s nightlife food scene, Puchong often takes a backseat to busier spots like TTDI and Cyberjaya. However, joining the ranks of Puchong’s night owl favourites like Fat Girl BBQ and Kafe Bali, Thai Teochew Porridge 马泰潮州粥 is set to shake things up.

This new restaurant is far from your typical Thai food joint. As the 1st in Malaysia to serve Moo Krob — Thailand’s iconic crispy pork belly — Thai Teochew Porridge 马泰潮州粥 lives up to its name by blending the best of local Malaysian Teochew dishes with Thai flavours.

Start with their signature Porridge (RM2.50), paired with classic Teochew sides like Steamed Chinese Sausage (RM8), Stir-Fried Kohlrabi with Dried Shrimp (RM6), or Fried Dace with Salted Black Beans (RM8).

In the mood for Thai food instead? Their special Thai menu is perfect alongside your porridge, offering dishes like Stir-Fried Clams with Chillies (RM14), Garlic Roasted Pork (RM12), and Brinjal Minced Pork (RM11). I can’t imagine any other perfect way to eat your porridge than dousing it with spicy and sour Thai flavours.

But the true star is Thai Teochew Porridge 马泰潮州粥’s signature Thai Crispy Pork Belly (RM22), or Moo Krob — one of Thailand’s most beloved street foods. No need to fly to Bangkok to indulge in this crispy and savoury delight, served with homemade sauces that’ll leave you craving more.

For something heartier, try their braised selections, like Braised Pig Trotters (RM20), Braised Pork Intestines (RM11), or Braised Eggs (RM2.50). You’re free to pair it with normal white rice instead of porridge if that’s what you prefer.

As if the extensive menu isn’t enough, they also offer a wide variety of soups to choose from. Simmered daily to perfection, Lou Wong Kua Soup and Herbal Chicken Leg Soup are some of many.

Next time you’re wandering the streets of Bandar Puchong Jaya past midnight, remember that Thai Teochew Porridge 马泰潮州粥 is ready to welcome you with open doors!
