This one’s for all my Northerners out there. In a recent Instagram post, Singapore’s renowned food court Koufu announced that their outlet at Waterway Point – Cook House by Koufu has reopened its doors after month-long renovations.

According to the Instagram post, there will be 21 stalls for diners to look forward to, with some long-standing favourites remaining and exciting new brands joining the fray!
My colleague Aaron was a frequent visitor to Cook House by Koufu prior to its renovation. The initial excitement of the reopening quickly turned a little disheartening as one of his favourite ayam penyet stalls is no longer around.

Some new stalls that you would want to look out for are Dan Lao, known for their affordable Hong Kong-style scrambled egg rice bowls. Started by ex-chefs at Egg Slut, it has been described by my colleague who visited their branch at Maxwell Food Centre last year as one of the most appetising, no-fuss meals ever.

After paying the original branch at Bendemeer Market & Food Centre a visit last year, Aaron described it as one of THE best dry beef noodles he has ever tasted. While it may not reflect the quality at the original branch, this stall is still worth trying!
So if you ever stumble up North, head down to the newly-renovated Cook House by Koufu at Waterway Point. Do note that opening times vary across stalls.
