It’s official — the Philippines’ largest shawarma chain has landed in Singapore! Shawarma Shack, beloved for its value-for-money wraps and bold flavours, just opened its first-ever Singapore outlet on Jul 30 at Toa Payoh Central.

Before anything else, what exactly is a shawarma? This Middle Eastern street food staple features spiced meat (usually chicken, beef or lamb) roasted, shaved off in thin slices and wrapped in pita bread. Shawarma Shack puts a Pinoy twist on it with its bold garlic sauce, sweet-salty marinades and juicy meats that cater to Filipino taste buds.

Open daily, this Toa Payoh outlet brings over the same iconic flavours Pinoys love, especially the Signature Chicken Shawarma (S$5.80 for Regular, S$7.90 for Jumbo) & Loaded Beef Shawarma (S$6.30 for Regular, S$8.90 for Jumbo), which are as juicy and savoury as Filipinos remember.

Despite being miles from Manila, the flavours stay true to its roots — bold, garlicky, and oh-so-satisfying wrapped in a warm and toasty pita.

If you’re the average Singaporean who simply can’t live without rice, go for their Rice Meals. The Classic Broasted Chicken Leg Quarter with Rice (S$10.50) is a solid pick, featuring a super generous cut of crispy chicken with sides to match.

For a light bite, try their Sloppy Fries (S$5 for Chicken, S$5.90 for Beef) or indulgent Original Shawarma Nachos (S$6.90 for Chicken, S$8.80 for Beef).

Even from their soft launch, Shawarma Shack drew a crowd of excited customers that saw both Filipinos craving a taste of home, and curious locals eager to try this viral brand. The best part? Prices are reasonably affordable, just like in the Philippines, making it a great grab-and-go option for anyone in the area, at any time of day.

So, if you ever find yourself around Toa Payoh looking for a hearty and comforting bite, come drop by Shawarma Shack!
