If you’ve spent any time in KL, chances are you’ve either queued for or at least heard whispers about Grumpy Bagels. This spot has become somewhat of a breakfast legend, with lines of bagel devotees stretching out the door most mornings.

Good news for all carb lovers, the team is expanding! Grumpy Bagels will soon open its 2nd outlet in a 120-year-old heritage building.

Much like their original spot on Jalan Imbi, which was also repurposed from an old home, this new space promises the same rustic charm that fans have come to love. Expect weathered walls, warm tones, and that nostalgic atmosphere that makes your morning coffee feel a little more comforting.

On 12 Oct, founder Claire Tan announced the news on her personal Instagram. After months of preparation, she shared that renovation works are underway and that choosing another heritage building was more than a business decision.
“It’s been tiring, but I just can’t let go of this building,” she said.

While the new outlet takes shape, you can still find comfort (and a really good bagel) at their Jalan Imbi branch.
The menu is packed with hearty favourites such as the S.E.C Bagel (RM28) with a house-made chicken sausage patty, over-easy egg, melted cheddar, and gochujang aioli, or the Classic Lox (RM36) topped with smoked Atlantic salmon and scallion cream cheese.

Other must-tries include the Seoul Grumpy (RM34), featuring Korean fried chicken with pickled red cabbage and gochujang aioli, and the Grilled Cheese Bagel (RM32) served with their signature spicy tomato soup.

And of course, no visit is complete without a cup of their house blend coffee. It pairs beautifully with the morning buzz, while creative drinks like Dirty Matcha (from RM17), Rose Latte (from RM16), and Yuzu Matcha (RM18) add something new to your routine.
The opening date for the new outlet hasn’t been revealed yet. Until then, your best bet for a satisfying bagel fix is still the OG Grumpy Bagels.
