If you’re hunting for a pork- and lard-free spot to load up on noodles, meats, seafood, and all that glorious hotpot shebang at a wallet-friendly price, the newly opened Dragon Hot Pot at Low Yat Park, Bukit Bintang is the one turning heads right now.

Dragon Hot Pot - Storefront

Fresh from its soft launch (with the Grand Opening set for 18 Oct), Dragon Hot Pot brings Melbourne’s viral malatang concept to KL. Each bowl is priced at RM6.90 per 100g, with a 300g minimum.

Dragon Hot Pot - Malatang

Choose from flavour-packed broths and stir-fries like Signature Malatang, Sichuan Hot & Sour, Malaban, Mala Spicy Stir-fry, Collagen Broth, Pickled Mustard, or even Vegan Soup

Dragon Hot Pot - Beef & seafood

You can build your pot with tender beef and lamb slices, fresh prawns, clams, even razor clams, duck blood, and all sorts of trimmings.

Dragon Hot Pot - Fishcakes

My personal weakness? The fish cakes, rice cakes, dim sum and sausages — some stuffed with cheese, others with mystery fillings that make every bite a little surprise.

Dragon Hot Pot - Noodle bar

No hotpot is complete without noodles, of course. Dragon Hot Pot offers a satisfying lineup featuring classics like spinach and carrot noodles, vermicelli, and the all-time crowd-pleaser — instant noodles. It’s practically impossible to go wrong here.

Dragon Hot Pot - Snacks

While your pot’s cooking, check out their snack counter for crispy comfort food like Stuffed Glutinous Rice Cake and Fried Potato Strips, all priced at RM11.90. These are the kind of snacks you tell yourself you won’t finish on your own… but definitely will.

Dragon Hot Pot - Drinks

And don’t miss the drink section, which might just be the most fun part. You can grab a ready-made drink from the fridge or go wild with their RM6.50 DIY bottomless cup

Dragon Hot Pot - Taro Milk Tea

We loaded ours with boba, grass jelly, sago, and konjac, then topped it up with Taro Milk Tea. If you like something else, the Hawthorn drink is also available.

Dragon Hot Pot - Noodles & broth

Start your broth mild, then make your way to the sauce bar to customise your spice level. Mix in sesame sauce, soy sauce, chilli oil, and pickled tofu until you hit your perfect balance. The broth was hearty and well-seasoned, the noodles soaked up all that flavour beautifully, and each bite was pure comfort.

Make sure to drop by Dragon Hot Pot on their Grand Opening day as they’re giving out free malatang for 3 days! Bring maybe a friend or two, and prepare to be stuffed full.
