After nearly a decade as one of Klang Valley’s familiar community hangout spots, The Gasket Alley in Petaling Jaya recently sparked concern among fans after hinting that it would be closing down. But as it turns out, the beloved lifestyle hub isn’t disappearing — it’s simply entering a new chapter.

The Gasket Alley will be rebranded as JAM PJ starting 1 Apr 2026, marking the next phase for the space many have come to associate with weekend markets, car meets and creative gatherings.

Before the transition officially takes place, it will be closing out its current chapter with a farewell community event titled “The Last Run”.

Scheduled for 28 Mar 2026, the event will feature a 3km run around the venue, inviting the public to take one final lap around the space. Participants can either run or walk the route, celebrating the community that helped shape the venue over the years.

The response has been overwhelming, with all available slots for the run already fully registered. The event will serve as a symbolic send-off for The Gasket Alley name before the venue transitions into its new identity.

Despite the rebrand, much of the community that built the space will remain. Most existing tenants are expected to continue operating at the location, including Murky Wines, Dirt Army, Hejau, FTMD, Butterfly Florist, Jonnie’s Bodega, Coffeeboy, HALO, Makhan and MacMax

Venturi Motors and Headers will also remain for a few more months, while The Good Stuff will be moving out. At the same time, the venue has also expanded into a connecting building, bringing in a fresh wave of tenants.

Since first launching in 2016, The Gasket Alley has carved out a unique place in Petaling Jaya’s lifestyle scene. Known for its container-style units and industrial warehouse aesthetic, the space became a gathering point for independent brands, creatives and community-driven events.

The Gasket Alley’s name may be changing with the upcoming rebrand to JAM PJ, but the space — and much of the community behind it — looks set to carry on under a new identity.
