Mei Ling Market & Food Centre has recently welcomed a new kid on the block: Wei Jian Local Delights. The stall, which relocated from Yew Tee, serves fried carrot cake, char kway teow, and fried Hokkien mee.

The new stall is located at #02-23 of the food centre, next to the popular Sin Kee Famous Chicken Rice Fish Porridge.
A scan of Google and Facebook reviews of the previous Yew Tee stall revealed that Wei Jian Local Delights serves generous food portions. Looks like it’ll be the spot for big eaters seeking a taste of local favourites.
At Wei Jian Local Delights, their Fried Kway Teow costs S$5.50 for Small and S$7.50 for Large, while the Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee is sold at S$6 for Small and S$8 for Large.

While there are only 2 size selections for the fried kway teow and Hokkien mee, you can choose between 3 sizes for the Black or White Fried Carrot Cake (S$4.50 for Small, S$5.50 for Medium, S$6.50 for Large). If you prefer your carrot cake mixed, you can also order the Black & White option for S$6.80.

Speaking of carrot cake, isn’t Mei Ling Market & Food Centre home to another carrot cake stall? Mei Ling Street (Handmade) Carrot Cake is also located at level 2 of the food centre, and a Google Review on Wei Jian Local Delights reads, “Definitely better than Mei Ling Street carrot cake at the corner.” Looks like the incumbent stall has some new competition.
I haven’t visited Mei Ling Market & Food Centre for a long time. Perhaps it’s time for me to check out Wei Jian Local Delights to find out whether it really beats Mei Ling Street (Handmade) Carrot Cake. Why don’t you check it out too?
