School’s out! The Sep school holiday runs from 5 – 13 Sep 2026. Instead of resting at home, why not take the chance to squeeze in some outings before school starts again? From Peppa Pig to immersive Harry Potter and art experiences, there are plenty of ways to keep the whole family entertained.

1. Increase your serotonin in Dopamine Land
Enjoy colourful installations at Dopamine Land for a much-needed break. Singapore isn’t a concrete jungle, but there’s never too much colour in life, right?
Dopamine Land is an interactive, multisensory experience which is pleasing to the eyes. It combines media, technology and play in one vibrant place for exploration. The exhibition has interactive rooms designed around colour, movement, sound, and textures for a wonderfully immersive and playful experience. The experience will last for 45 minutes, and all ages are welcome.
There are 10 colourful rooms you can play in, all with something unique. The rooms are Cushion Clash, Sunset Lagoon, Chromadance, Cosmic Oasis, Cave of Tactility, Euphoria Grove, Colortopia, Scribblescape and Neon Nebula, while the last room is a private event room.
Something all the rooms have in common is how vivid and multicoloured they are, which is great for your family pictures and Instagram posts.
My favourite is the Chromadance room, where the dance floors light up in brilliant colours and pulse with the music for an energetic atmosphere. I even got to choose my own song for a dance battle with my friends in an epic showdown.

2. PEPPA PIG Fun Day Out! (5 – 6 Sep)
I’m Peppa Pig! If you find this phrase familiar, start off the school holidays with PEPPA PIG Fun Day Out. The show is running from 5 to 6 Sep 2026 at the Esplanade Theatre. It is suitable for all ages, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
For each respective date, there are 3 time slots for the live show. On both dates, the slots are at 10.30am, 2pm and 5.30pm, so plan accordingly.
The live show brings Peppa, George, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and friends to the stage for an oink-tastic musical adventure. The characters will head to the zoo as well as the beach for a fun day out.
Expect plenty of songs, dance, muddy puddles and familiar characters we all know and love from the animated show. My favourite part of this show is the fact that it is interactive. This gives the little ones the chance to join in throughout the programme. For example, they can feed the penguins, build sandcastles and sing along with Peppa and her friends.

3. Spend a day at KidsSTOP in Science Centre Singapore
If you prefer something more educational, KidsSTOP is a good choice. It is located at Science Centre Singapore and is their dedicated Children’s Science Centre. The centre acts as a safe space for children aged 8 years and below to learn, inquire, and innovate through fun and meaningful activities. Do note that a child must be accompanied by an adult (18 years of age).
There are more than 20 exhibits at KidsSTOP, all designed to introduce Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics concepts in a fun and interactive way.
Their various themed zones, such as Flight and Space, Built Environment and Supermarket, help children explore science topics via hands-on activities. For example, the Planet Warriors exhibit showcases marine conservation and uses immersive technology to boost learning and the overall experience. The Dino Pit creates a multisensory experience for children as they go digging for dinosaur fossils.
Socks are required for some of their exhibits; they are Giant J, Dream Climber, Little Ant Kingdom and Small World. So bring along your own socks; otherwise, you can purchase socks at the KidsSTOP vending machine.

4. Watch the Kidabra Family Show at The Magic Attic (6 Sep)
Do you want to see a magic trick? The Kidabra Family Show by The Magic Attic is a 45-minute magic show for families, held on the first Sun of every month at 3pm. The show is curated for younger audiences, and features wholesome tricks to enjoy as a family-friendly activity. It is best suited for kids aged 5 and above. Unfortunately, the show is not suitable for infants or toddlers.
Children aged 4 and above require their own ticket and seat, while children under 4 enter for free. Do note that all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the show. Seating will be on the floor for this show to ensure safety. It’s recommended to arrive at least 20 minutes before the show time, so aim to be there by 2.40pm.
The show combines magic, audience participation and comedy with interactive aspects. The performers will engage with the audience and encourage children to take part in the experience, keeping everyone immersed and enchanted.

5. Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s Little Red Riding Hood (5 – 6 Sep)
Does your child love fairy tales? You’re in luck; this Sep school holidays, Singapore Symphony Orchestra brings the classic Little Red Riding Hood to life as a concert. It will be held at Victoria Concert Hall on 5 to 6 Sep 2026. There are 2 time slots on both days, at 11am and 2pm.
This concert is recommended for ages 5 and above. It is presented in a relaxed environment with rules eased. You are allowed to enter freely and exit the concert hall as you wish.
This isn’t the Little Red Riding Hood you may remember. Inspired by Roald Dahl’s version, this retelling features a cheekier and feistier Little Red who will stand up to the Big Bad Wolf and save the day.
The performance combines live orchestral music with theatre, colourful costumes, clever lighting and lively performances by actors from Dandi Productions.
Musical numbers from the programme include Paul Patterson’s Roald Dahl’s Little Red Riding Hood, Fučík’s Entry of the Gladiators and Bizet’s Toreador Song from Carmen.

6. Step into the Minecraft universe (till 13 Sep)
Minecraft! One of the few games I play, where I enjoy spending hours building virtual worlds. Now, you can experience the game for yourself in real life at Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue. It’s held at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, so you can even go to visit the zoo after this.
All ages are welcome to join this experience; a minimum of 1 adult ticketholder must accompany children aged 12 years and below. Children 2 years and below can enjoy this for free, with no ticket purchase needed.
Minecraft comes to life here, from the walls down to the floor; it’s as though you’ve been transported into an actual Minecraft realm. Well, if you’ve just been transported to a whole new world, what do you do? Practice how to survive, of course!
Start by honing your Minecraft skills with a handheld Orb. Be sure to collect the resources you need and fight off all the hostile mobs. After sufficient practice, embark on a thrilling rescue mission. You’ll experience mining for precious gems and fighting hostile mobs on your quest to stop the zombie attacks on the villagers and save the day. Lastly, use your Orb and knowledge acquired to build your way through the escape portal.
End your adventure with a special reward. If you complete the quest, you’ll receive a rare, limited-edition in-game gift, which is a Minecraft Experience cape!

7. Play mini-golf among dinosaurs at Dino Putt
If your little ones are on the active side, head to Dino Putt in clubFACE. This dinosaur-themed mini-golf experience features an outdoor 18-hole putting course and more. All ages are welcome here, so long as they can play. The activity will last approximately 60 – 90 minutes per 18 holes, but fear not; all tickets are day passes with unlimited rounds of mini-golf.
Instead of the usual golf setting, Dino Putt surrounds you with life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, which roar and blink as you navigate your way through the 18-hole course. This interactive element makes it more engaging for children. Plus, the exotic prehistoric jungle environment adds another layer to the whole experience.
In addition to the golf course, there are many other kid-friendly things to enjoy. Hop on their dino rides for some extra thrills, and enjoy their trampoline and bouncy castle for even more fun. Reward yourself after all that hard work playing by taking a break at their Dino Cafe. Relax and enjoy their sweet treats and refreshing drinks.

8. Enter the Wizarding World at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic
Have a magical day out with the family at Harry Potter: Visions of Magic. The experience is located in Resorts World Sentosa, so there’s definitely more family-friendly fun afterwards.
Do note that this experience is recommended for visitors aged 12 and above. Children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. If your child is under 4 years of age, they can enter for free, but they must be accompanied by an adult ticketholder.
This interactive experience features responsive video content along with outstanding architecture and original soundscapes, creating a breathtaking multisensory experience.
What I like the most is that you’ll receive your very own interactive wand, which helps guide you along the journey and illuminate the surroundings as well as hidden elements within it. I find that their interactive technology really helps you to feel more connected to the experience and makes it more engaging than simply walking through an exhibition.
Fans can explore environments inspired by iconic locations such as the Room of Requirement, Newt’s Menagerie, the Hall of Prophecy and the Ministries of Magic. There Chamber of Secrets and The Trap Door are exclusive to Singapore.

9. Step inside Monet’s paintings
If your kid enjoys painting and the arts, Monet Inside, 2026: An Immersive Exhibition is one the best places to take them for the Sep holidays. This exhibition lets you engage with Claude Monet’s work by filling 5 walls and the entire floor with it, giving you a glimpse into his beautiful mind. Plus, there is accompanying classical music to really set the mood. The exhibition is best enjoyed by ages 4 and above.
As you walk along the exhibition, the narrator’s words will transport you back to that era of Paris. Along the way, you will also learn about Monet’s life and works and gain a new perspective of his craft. If you want something tangible to remind you of the experience, bring home the specially curated Monet merchandise as well as the exclusive collectables available only at the exhibition.
There are 14,500 square feet of mesmerising surroundings filled with Monet’s art. This is a great time for photo opportunities and to capture unforgettable moments with the entire family. There are also hands-on activities where you can create your very own Monet-inspired masterpiece.

10. Take a journey through Van Gogh’s world
Do you have a mini Van Gogh at home? If your child enjoys art, perhaps Van Gogh Inside 2026: Love, Vincent is a good outing for the Sep holidays. This immersive exhibition brings Vincent van Gogh’s works to life through vibrant floor-to-wall projections, music and storytelling.
I think this exhibition is a fun, captivating way to connect with the art of one of the world’s most talented painters, ever. The exhibition is recommended for ages 4 and above.
As you walk along the exhibits, you’ll get to follow his journey from his early works in Nuenen to his acclaimed Starry Night and Sunflowers. There’ll be over 200 masterpieces brought to life in this experience across 5 immersive large-scale screens accompanied by classical music.
The narrator’s voice will transport you to the Netherlands and France of the 19th century. Through this, you will gain insights into Van Gogh’s struggles, inspirations, and his creative genius.
I particularly like the interactive activities, one of which is painting your very own masterpiece.

11. Sketch Up 2026 at Asian Civilisations Museum (12 Sep)
If you prefer something a little more hands-on for your outing, join Sketch Up 2026, held at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Organised by Arts House Group (AHG), Sketch Up 2026 lets you unleash your creativity. It is recommended for ages 12 and above.
It will transform the Civic District into an open-air drawing space, where everyone can become an artist, drawing and sharing their own one-of-a-kind piece on iconic places of the precinct.
What I like most about this mass sketching session is that we get to slowly take in our surroundings and translate them onto paper. In fast-paced Singapore, we probably walk by countless beautiful and unique places without ever really noticing them.
During this event, participants will disperse across the precinct and around the museum, finding their own vantage points. They will also be able to take the time to appreciate and scrutinise their surroundings, then sketch them out.
Everyone gets to come together to share and create their own art. After all, no two art pieces will be exactly the same, so we can all learn from each other’s unique perspectives. Do note that the mass sketching session requires a S$5 refundable deposit.
Do bring along your own sketching materials and tools for this. Additionally, the first 200 participants will receive a complimentary Sketch Up bucket hat and a Pencil Sketching Set. Do note that this is on a first-come, first-served basis.

12. MINDS Film Festival 2026 (19, 20, 26 & 27 Sep)
Want to just sit back, relax and enjoy a film this Sep? Don’t head to your regular cinema. Instead, the MINDS Film Festival (MFF) is returning on 19 Sep for free community movie screenings. The screenings take place over 2 weekends: 19 & 20 Sep and 26 & 27 Sep. The event is organised by MINDS in collaboration with the Singapore Film Society (SFS).
Do note that admission to MFF 2026 is free and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also reserve seats through the booking link below.
MINDS was founded in 1962 to care for and support persons with intellectual disabilities, as well as their families. In line with its mission, this community movie screening will showcase 2 films highlighting inclusion and the diversity of human experiences.
The 2 films are Please Stand By and Super Wang Wang (超级望望). Please Stand By will have English subtitles, while Super Wang Wang will have both Chinese and English subtitles. I’m excited to watch these 2 films, which celebrate the lives, dreams and everyday wins of Persons with Intellectual Disability.
Besides the movie screening, I’m looking forward to their interactive film quiz and the MINDS social enterprises marketplace . There will also be door gifts for early birds and a lucky draw for survey participants.
