Some of you may remember a cosy cafe located in Ang Mo Kio called Acoustic Cafe, which opened two years back. You won’t find it at its familiar old spot anymore, because they have recently moved on to bigger things, rebranding as Acoustics Coffee Bar at Neil Road

While the old space was small, it had plenty of its own charm with its iconic white wall of tesselated cartoon bunnies and their distinctive acoustic panels, which are hardly found anywhere else. Acoustics Coffee Bar is a grown-up version of Acoustic Cafe in a way. The fabric-covered walls, rattan elements, and soft green accents give it a luxurious warmth that fits right in with the other swankier cafes in the vicinity.

The most eye-catching fixture here is, of course, the striking mise-en-scene of some evidently top-notch Hi-Fi equipment set behind a vibrant yellow couch. The walls are also lined with acoustic panels which help give the cafe a nice echo-free ambience.

That makes Acoustics Coffee Bar a great place to hang out with friends without getting hit by the cacophony of chatter from all directions like you’d experience in many cafes. And what better way to chill than to get some classic all-day brunch items such as Fluffy Pancakes ($12), Brie & Raspberry Sourdough Toast ($10), and Laksa Cream Spaghetti ($20).

If you can’t get in on the crazy Eggslut queues, then perhaps you could enjoy the eggy indulgence that is their signature Egg in a Hole (S$14) that’s a decadent mess of runny egg and melted cheese which would definitely satiate any egg slut’s lust for eggs.

For caffeine fiends, you’d enjoy Acoustics Coffee Bar’s speciality coffee made from Ethiopian beans. Choices range from a simple cup of Black (S$4.50 for hot, S$5.50 for iced) or White (S$4.50/3oz, S$5 for 7oz, S$5.50 for 10oz, S$6 for iced) to a more unique Orange Mocha (S$7 for hot, S$8 for iced).
