Aeroline, the luxury coach operator linking Singapore and Malaysia, will be taking an unexpected pause. From 6 Nov to 5 Dec, all trips will be temporarily suspended following a directive from Malaysia’s Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).

According to the company’s statement released on 1 Nov, the suspension stems from Aeroline’s continued use of its own city-centre service points — at Corus KLCC, 1 Utama, and Sunway Pyramid — instead of relocating operations to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) as instructed.
Aeroline said it is appealing the decision, noting that the move affects passengers who value its convenient, point-to-point drop-offs right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.
Those with existing bookings during Aeroline’s suspension period can opt for a full refund or reschedule for a later date.

APAD, however, stated that Aeroline’s practices violated licence conditions, adding that the operator had received three show-cause letters between March and October for similar non-compliance.

Investigations reportedly found its coaches picking up and dropping off passengers at unauthorised locations, which contravenes clauses under Malaysia’s Land Public Transport Act.
In response, Aeroline expressed hope that the government will “recognise the contribution [it] provides to society” through its seamless and convenient point-to-point service, something it has championed for the past 23 years.

The suspension has stirred conversation online — with most travellers expressing frustration over the distance between TBS and Kuala Lumpur’s city centre (about 13km, or nearly an hour by public transport).
Many pointed out that Aeroline’s city pick-up points are not only convenient but familiar landmarks for regular passengers.
As Aeroline takes this 1-month hiatus, the company says it will use the downtime to “reflect, innovate, and further improve our services” — while urging passengers to share their support with APAD through feedback channels.
For now, let’s hope that the cross-border coach will soon be back on the road and bound once again for smooth journeys between KL, PJ, JB, Penang, and Singapore.
