As the weather heats up, the scorching sun practically begs for a dip! With the sun shining so bright, who can resist the call of a refreshing water getaway? At BBQ Lamb KL Kemensah, you literally sit in the water while you dine.

Located in Kampung Kemensah, Ampang, you’ll have to trust your navigation app for a foolproof find of this eatery. Remember to slow down and keep an eye out as the entrance can be easily missed.

Once I stepped into the restaurant, it felt like a symphony of calm — lush greenery all around, trees doing a dance in the breeze, and the gentle hum of the river. It’s a kind of bliss that the city just can’t offer.

One of the most outstanding features here is you get to dip your feet in the shallow river while you chomp on your food. Tables and chairs are all placed in the river, so make sure to keep yourself seated while dining, as the chairs may float away with the current of the water. However, you’ll find it stable once you’ve gotten yourself settled in.

This restaurant operates on a reservation basis. You can check their website for availability and make your booking before you head to the restaurant. The menu features a range of food that suits every pocket — from Western-style grilled meat to Canadian Lobsters, the price ranges from RM30 to RM280.

If you’re going down in a group, BBQ Lamb KL Kemensah also has a Mix Meat Set (RM170), with smoked duck, smoked chicken, smoked beef, smoked lamb, rice, soup, fruits, cocktails — and most importantly, free refill for drinks! The grilled meats are served with an array of dipping sauces like barbecue, ranch, tartar, and sambal belacan.

Dining in this unique setting is a remarkable experience, providing a calm (yet thrilling) escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. I highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a getaway — you’ll be swept away, quite literally.
