December has come! It’s time to deck the halls and all that jazz. Though it’s a slight pity we always miss the idyllic White Christmas in tropical Singapore, gobbling a homemade feast for the ages does resonate soundly with the festive spirit.
As much as many of us dream about slickly whipping up the perfect entrées, only some are endowed with deft cooking hands, leaving a dependent remainder who turn to commercial options. But with abundant caterers adept at Christmas arrangements of all sizes ever ready to deliver to your doorstep, there’s no longer a need for you to find a better party in the potentially stormy wilderness.
For less than $50 per pax, here are 8 caterers that I feel offer the meanest Christmas catering packages:
1. Orange Clove
The halal Orange Clove has accrued many awards in its 6-year operation famous for having impeccable sushi and mushroom bruschetta as well as the provision of apt decor. Case in point, you eat on melanine plates instead of disposable ones in its caterings.
In spite of all of that and its thematic menu subheadings (Rudolph’s Greens, Festive Regale), the self-declared best corporate caterer is not pricey, requiring between $25 to $45 per pax depending on choice of set. You can check out their menu here.
The first 50 orders through Sethlui.com of any order of the four Christmas Buffet menus, with a minimum spending of $1000 (before GST), will be to be entitled to a complimentary Mrs Claus Treat–Orange Clove’s own interpretation of the Earl Grey Layer Cake(worth $68). 2. Four Seasons Catering
While award-winning Four Seasons Catering is separate from Four Seasons Hotel, it needs no introduction for being efficient at serving large functions. The halal caterer has up to 8 menu variations this Christmas, 2 of which are Asian X’mas fusion sets.
Innovative items like Miso Butterfish with Seasame & Scallion and Golden Scallop Yam Basket headline its diverse menu, though a hefty investment is required for all its sets due to its minimum 25-pax policy that demands between $20 to $30 from each person.

3. Morganfield’s
If a raucous party is not for you, Morganfield’s is preparing small feasts for between 4–10 this year with its modest 3-item online menu inspired by the American Midwest palate. Granted that it isn’t the typical caterer, more homely affairs with its signature beer-seasoned ham and ribs will hover around $40 per pax.

4. Neo Garden
Quixotic names like Christmas at Santa’s Soiree ($21.27 per head) for Neo Garden’s festive offerings is not the only attraction of the 2-years-running top caterer (based on a Nielson report) in Singapore. A sleek ordering online platform also makes life sweeter when you decide if you should be catering for between 15 to 40 pax. Check out their menu here.

5. Chilli Padi
So what if the name of this Nonya caterer is not befitting of Christmas treats? Fear not, with mains like the Roasted Turkey with Chestnut Stuffing, Baked Honey Glazed Chicken Ham, Smoked Duck, and Shepherd’s pie in the Christmas mini set that serves a minimum of 15, you can be certain that Chilli Padi does not need spice for its food to be good.
Also, because it is housed in Bedok, delivery charges to the East are considerably lower.

6. One Paradise
À la carte items such as Trio Sausage Platter with Sauerkraut ($65+) and Festive X’mas Whole ‘Peking Turkey’ ($128+) affords you some flexibility at this halal Christmas caterer that otherwise provides for the minimum of 10 or 30.
In light of a steep delivery charge (>$60) and other variable rents, I would advise you to be wary when placing the order. One paradise does however, also have a Halal catering option – the Silver Tray which will suit many multi-racial parties. Check out their menu here.

7. Purple Sage
Another classy caterer that also adores food presentation is Purple Sage, so you can be assured of additional festive adornments for the party. With up to 9 set selections ($30 per pax), a vegetarian option on request, and an a la carte range of gourmet items like Oven Roasted Australian Grain Fed Striploin and Lamb Shank, there evidently is good value for money. 8. Vis-a-Vis
Vis-a-Vis Restaurant, the French cuisine restaurant-caterer, is usually featured for courses like its French Onion Soup and Lamb Rack with Truffle Juice. This Christmas, 11 a la carte items and 4 sauce tubs are available for delivery. The most intriguing item is likely to be the Boneless Turkey stuffed with Foie Gras, Dried Apricots, & Roasted Nuts ($248: 2kg).
We estimate cost to be around $30 per head, but note that the caterer simply charges every item according to weight.
