We Easties know that most great things are found in the East, but we don’t brag about that. Except, we do. The news of both Don Don Donki and Swee Choon coming to Tampines just hit us hard and fast, and not to mention a whole lot of other great things you can find in the area. Brawn & Brains already has two existing outlets in the East—one at Guillemard Road, and the other at East Coast Road—but soon, Geylang Road will join the chorus of those who can proudly claim they’ve got B&B in their area, too.

This new storefront was spotted by Instagram user @yungcheetos at 673 Geylang Road, along the same stretch as New Scissor-Cut Curry Rice Restaurant at 669 Geylang Road. I had my first taste of Brawn & Brains when I paid a visit to the East Coast outlet in celebration of a friend’s birthday where she, ironically, treated me to a meal there. I remember having a lip-smacking combination of eggs, avocado, smoked salmon, and mozzarella, but I know the menus at each outlets are ever-evolving, so it’s always exciting to see what’s up and coming.

Not much has been said about the new opening yet, and the Geylang Road outlet on Brawn & Brains’ website is merely listed as “coming soon”, but if it’s anything like its two other counterparts (which it will be), then there’s much to be hopeful for.

Some of my favourites from Brawn & Brains’ Guillemard menu include the Curried Chicken Taco (S$16), Avocado on Toast with Slow-Cooked Egg (S$14), and the Grilled Chicken & Avocado On Rustic Sourdough (S$17) which is available only on weekdays. Of course, whenever I’m in the area, picking up a bottle (or two) of B&B’s Cold Brew White (S$8.20) is imperative for me—helpless as I am towards its smooth, creamy goodness.

Keep an eye out for Brawn & Brains when it eventually opens its doors along Geylang Road.
